How it works

The claim process, demystified.

From the first phone call to the final invoice, here's exactly what to expect.

  1. 01

    Free post-storm inspection

We climb the roof, document every impact with photos and measurements, and put together a written damage report — no obligation.

  2. 02

    File the claim

If damage is present, we help you open the claim with your carrier and walk you through the questions they'll ask.

  3. 03

    Meet the adjuster on-site

We're on the roof with your insurance adjuster so nothing gets missed — every soft metal, screen, gutter, and shingle is accounted for.

  4. 04

    Review the scope

Once the carrier approves the claim, we go over the scope of loss with you line-by-line so you know exactly what's covered.

  5. 05

    Restore the roof

Our in-house crews complete the replacement to manufacturer spec — usually in 1–2 days — with full magnet sweep and cleanup.

  6. 06

    Final invoice & warranty

We submit final paperwork to your carrier, collect your deductible, and register your manufacturer + workmanship warranties.

Common questions

Insurance & claim FAQ

Will filing a hail claim raise my homeowners insurance rates?+

Storm and hail claims are 'Acts of God' and generally do not raise individual rates. Your carrier may raise rates across a ZIP code after a major event regardless of whether you file.

What does Mini Tex Roofing charge for the insurance process?+

Nothing extra. Our inspection, photo report, claim assistance, and adjuster meeting are all free. You pay your insurance deductible, and the carrier pays the rest of the approved scope directly.

How long do I have to file after a storm?+

Most Texas policies give you 12 months from the date of loss, but waiting weakens your claim. Get inspected within 30 days when possible.

What if my claim is denied?+

We'll review the denial letter with you. In many cases a re-inspection with our representation reverses the decision.

Do you handle supplements?+

Yes. If we discover additional damage during tear-off, we document and submit supplemental claims to the carrier on your behalf.

What's the difference between ACV and RCV?+

ACV is the depreciated value of your roof at the time of loss. RCV is what it costs to replace it new. Most Texas policies are RCV.

Do I have to use the contractor my insurance recommends?+

No. You have the legal right to choose any licensed contractor in Texas.

Can you tarp my roof before the adjuster arrives?+

Yes — emergency tarping is available 24/7 and is typically a covered expense under your policy.

Storm just rolled through?

Don't wait — damage worsens with every weather event. We'll be on your roof within 48 hours.
